Description
To obtain the data base for the design of the Large Helical Device, a lot of research and development concerning to mechanical properties of the structural materials and welding performance were carried out. Since all coils of the Large Helical Device are made of superconductors, the support structure is also cooled down at 4.5 K. Therefore, the mechanical data base was piled up for cryogenic use. This report presents the summary of these studies for the design of the Large Helical Device. (author)
