Description

The level structures of 131I and 131Xe following the β decay of 131Te (T1/2=30 h) and 131I (T1/2 = 8 days) respectively have been studied in details .High resolution gamma ray spectrometer was used to measure the gamma ray spectra. The energies and the relative intensities for the gamma ray transitions identified in 131I and gamma ray transitions belongs to 131Xe observed in the present work have been measured with a good precision. GENIE 2000 software was used to analyze the obtained spectra. A highly enriched 130Te (98.96%) was irradiated for two hours in (ET-RR-2) reactor in NRC, Inshas, Egypt in a thermal neutron flux of about 1014 neutron cm-2 sec-1. The Energy levels for the nuclei under investigations were discussed and the experimental results were compared with the findings of previous works
