Particle control in a tokamak
- 1. Japan Atomic Energy Research Inst., Naka, Ibaraki. Naka Fusion Research Establishment
Description
A survey of the studies on particle control, for both impurity and fuel particles, on DIVA and Doublet III tokamaks is presented. Relation between plasma-wall interactions and confinement characteristics of a tokamak plasma with respect to both impurity and fuel particle controls is discussed. It is shown as examples of particle control that energy confinement time is improved by impurity control with carbonization in DIVA and by fuel particle control with D2 pellet injection in Double III.
