Development of complex automatic control computer-based systems at soviet NPP's with channel reactors

The development stages of complex automatic control systems of the RBMK-1000 type channel reactors since 1962 are briefly reviewed. Primary attention is paid to the ''Skala'' system introduced in 1973 at the Leningrad NPP RBMK-1000 reactor unit 1. Brief data on the structure and characteristics of the ''Skala'' system functions are presented. Six more ''Skala'' systems are put into power in 1975-1979 (2 systems at the Leningrad, Kursk and Chernobylsk NPPs). A variant of the structure of a perspe-- ctive integrated automatic NPP control system is suggested
