Mainz: Recent results and future developments
Description
Since February 1983 the Mainz-laboratory has had a 100% duty-factor electron beam covering an energy range from 25 to 180 MeV and delivering current up to 60μA. Two racetrack microtrons, linked together in a cascade, accelerate the electron beam, injected with 2.2 MeV by a van de Graaff accelerator, up to 180 MeV. These two stages will serve as an injector for a third microtron increasing the energy up to 840 MeV
