Stress relief cracking in overlay-welded components for nuclear reactor pressure vessels of a heat-resistant structural steel
Description
Cracks under the cladding of reactor pressure vessels have of late been the subject of discussions. Many specialists in welding technology and fracture mechanics consider these cracks to be of minor importance. They are, however, unacceptable for those responsible for the safe operation of reactors insofar as their insignificance has not been unambiguously proved. Results of the research of these problems are listed. (F.M.)
