Proton-induced α-and tau-emission at 72 MeV

Description
Energy spectra of α particles and angular distributions of α and tau particles emitted in reactions induced on 27Al, 59Co, 90Zr, 197Au, 208Pb and 232Th by approximately 70 MeV protons have been measured. The α particle spectra and angular distributions are satisfactorily reproduced by a calculation based on the hypothesis of a knock-on mechanism involving α particles preformed in target nucleus.
