Description

We report the results of an open non randomized multicenter study to assess performances of coincidence detection emission tomography CDET with 18FDG to evaluate solitary pulmonary nodule. 40 patients have been included following strict criteria (no ongoing inflammatory syndrome, no recent lung biopsy). Pathology performed post operatively demonstrated 16 benign nodules and 24 malignant nodules. Nodule diameter obtained by CT scan was 2,4±0,8 cm (range 1 to 4 cm). 18FDG CDET appears as a reliable method to investigate solitary pulmonary nodules with a size greater than 1.5 cm. (authors)
