Description
Quantitative characteristics of the processes of HeI atom excitation in the course of interaction of a beam of helium fast atoms in the ground state with a gas target are discussed. Excitation functions of n3D levels in HeI for 3≤n≤10 are given. The energy of atom collision varied in the range of 50-500 eV. Excitation cross sections were determined by radiation emitted during radiation decay of the excited states. Threshold behaviour of excitation functions of the lower n3D levels is investigated. For collision energy of 450 eV dependences of excitation cross sections of n1,3S, n1,3P, n1,3D levels on the main quantum number for 3≤n≤16 are given
