A model for baryogenesis in superstring unification

  • 1. Johns Hopkins Univ., Baltimore, MD (USA). Dept. of Physics and Astronomy

Description

The problem of baryogenesis is studied in superstring unification with intermediate gauge symmetry breaking. Baryon number asymmetry may be generated by the decay of the coherent Higgs field which is produced by the phase transition associated with the intermediate gauge symmetry breaking. It will be possible to obtain an appreciable baryon number asymmetry if certain phenomenological conditions are satisfied for the model parameters. (orig.)
