Deep inelastic contribution to electromagnetic mass difference
Description
We investigate how one may deal with the logarithmic divergence of the electromagnetic mass difference due to the scale invariance in the deep inelastic region. It will be shown that the divergence can be replaced by the effective quark mass in a hadron by the renor malization technique similar to that in quantum electrodynamics. An alteration of the Coleman and Glashow relation is investigated.
