Description

Making use of the nonrelativistic quark model the bound states of nonstrange baryons with quantum numbers JP=1/2+,3/2+,5/2+,7/2+; T=1/2,3/2, i.e. of the nucleon and Δ isobar have been calculated. The Hamiltonian of the model contains the contact and tensor interaction alongwith the potential term. The method of hyperspherical functions has been used in the calculation. The density of the number of calculated states exceeds the observed density. This can be explained due to insufficient resolution of the resonances and rather high decay probability of some resonances. As a whole, the agreement between theory and experiment may be considered as a satisfactory
