Xeroradiography
Description
The xeroradiographic imaging process differs considerably from conventional screen-film or non-screen radiography, having unique imaging characteristics of edge enhancement, subdued broad area response, and large object latitude. These imaging characteristics make this technique useful in selected cases for imaging low-contrast objects that are defined by sharp edges. Nevertheless, widespread acceptance and usage of xeroradiography for routine musculoskeletal examinations appear unlikely owing to the relatively high radiation exposure required and the comparatively limited availability of the system
