Method of operating BWR type reactor

Description

In a method of operating a BWR type reactor, after reaching a power level at which the increase of a recycling flow rate is allowed by a withdrawal of control rods, power is increased by the withdrawal of the control rods and the increase of the recycling flow rate within a range of not exceeding the thermal restriction value of the fuel. After the recycling flow rate reaches the upper limit value or a planned value, the power is increased by the withdrawal of the control rods. If a margin relative to the fuel thermal restriction value of the fuel is decreased, or the control rod operation is interrupted till a zenon accumulation amount is increased to increase the thermal margin. The control rods are withdrawn repeatedly till a control pattern capable of reaching the rated power by the increase of the recycling flowrate is obtained. Thereafter, the control rods are gradually withdrawn along with zenon accumulation and a control rod pattern as a final target is attained. In view of the above, the time for reaching the rated operation while increasing the margin of the operation region is shortened. (N.H.)
