Modelization and numerical simulation of atmospheric aerosols dynamics
Description
Chemical-transport models are now able to describe in a realistic way gaseous pollutants behavior in the atmosphere. Nevertheless atmospheric pollution also exists as a fine suspended particles, called aerosols which interact with gaseous phase, solar radiation, and have their own dynamic behavior. The goal of this thesis is the modelization and numerical simulation of the General Dynamic Equation of aerosols (GDE). Part I deals with some theoretical aspects of aerosol modelization. Part II is dedicated to the building of one size resolved aerosol model (SIREAM). In part III we perform the reduction of this model in order to use it in dispersion models as POLAIR3D. Several modelization issues are still opened: organic aerosol matter, externally mixed aerosols, coupling with turbulent mixing, and nano-particles. (author)

Des modeles de chimie transport permettent le suivi realiste des polluants en phase gazeuse dans l'atmosphere. Cependant, lapollution atmospherique se trouve aussi sous forme de fines particules en suspension, les aerosols, qui interagissent avec la phase gazeuse, le rayonnement solaire, et possedent une dynamique propre. Cette these a pour objet la modelisation et la simulation numerique de l'Equation Generale de la Dynamique des aerosols (GDE). La partie I traite de quelques points theoriques de la modelisation des aerosols. La partie II est consacree a l'elaboration du module d'aerosols resolu en taille (SIREAM). dans la partie III, on effectue la reduction du modele en vue de son utilisation dans un modele de dispersion tel que POLAIR3D. Plusieurs points de modelisation restent encore largement ouverts: la partie organique des aerosols, le melange externe, le couplage a la turbulence, et les nano-particules. (auteur)Files
