Austenite grain refinement in 40Kh steel during accelerated heating
Creators
Description
The austenite grain growth kinetics in the 40Kh steel was studied at different hardening temperatures. In the region of phase transformations the samples were heated with the speed of 14 grad/s. Mechanical properties of the 40Kh steel were found as a function of hardening temperature. It is established that the austenite grain is refined twice during the process of accelerated heating of annealed 40Kh steel: just at the moment of the α-#betta# transformation termination at 860 deg C and during the heating up to 950 deg C. The best mechanical properties of the low-tempered 40Kh steel were obtained after steel hardening in water from 950 deg C
