Description
The decay of a single low-frequency, linearly polarized electromagnetic wave into a pair of waves in the turbulent, magnetoactive, electron--positron plasma around a pulsar is investigated. The radiation spectrum established from this type of interaction is obtained. From the results an interpretation is offered for the basic properties of the prepulse in the radio emission of the Crab pulsar, NP 0531+21
