Shielding computations for the sampling cell B80 in Demonstration Fast Reactor Reprocessing Plant (DFRP)

  • 1. Radiological Safety Division, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam (India)

Description

The sampling cell B80 is provided for sampling of the tanks located in process cells of DFRP associated with reprocessing of high burn-up Fast Breeder Test Reactor (FBTR) and Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) spent fuel. The cell houses all equipments associated with sampling of process tanks. The present study describes the computational gamma dose mapping studies performed for assessing the dose rates that would prevail in the operating areas of various accessible elevations of the sampling cell and suggest shielding augmentation in the regions where inadequacy is observed
