This paper reviews the history of core disruptive accident (CDA) LMFBR licensing, emphasizing the treatment of CDA in the Japanese LMFBR, Joyo and Monju, and discusses on rationalized safety philosophy and analytical conditions on CDA which may influence future LMFBR licensing. (author)
