Sorption of cesium and strontium from low-activity fresh waters

  • 1. Ural Polytechnic Institute, Ekaterinburg (Russian Federation)

Description

A study is made of statics, kinetics, and dynamics of cesium and strontium sorption by inorganic composite sorbent TG-K1. Henry's law is shown to hold within the narrow range of sorbate concentration. Sorption isotherms are obtained for a wide concentration range of sorbate. Sorption is shown to proceed in the mixed-diffusion regime. Characteristics of dynamic concentration of cesium and strontium have been studied. The feasibility and conditions of the sorbent regeneration have been examined
