OZI-violating couplings and hadronic production of eta sub(Q)(eta sub(Q)')
Description
The decay widths GAMMA(J/psi → q anti q), GAMMA(eta sub(c) → q anti q) and GAMMA(eta sub(c)' → q anti q) are re-examined. By using the results, the cross sections for hadronic production of eta sub(c)(eta sub(Q)) or eta sub(c)'(eta sub(Q)') are predicted on the basis of the model of quark-antiquark as well as gluon-gluon fusion, and the ratio of σ(h + h → eta sub(c)' → J/psi + γ) to σ(h + h → chi sub(c) → J/psi + γ) is estimated. It is pointed out that the study of hadronic production of eta sub(c)(eta sub(c)') is one of the best means to see which is the most suitable among the models suggested by several authors in order to explain the data for J/psi production in anti p-N and p-N collisions.
