Heat treatment effect on indium solubility in tin monotelluride

Description
Heat treatment effect on indium solubility and structure of solid solutions in Sn-In-Te system was investigated. The compositions of synthesized alloys are confirmed to isoconcentrates of 0,1,2,3,4,6 at.% In and radial sections of SnTe (Sn0.984Te)-InTe(In2Te3) and Sn0.969Te-In. Significant heat treatment effect on structure of indium solid solutions in SnTe and course of isotherms of solubility in Sn-In-Te system was established. Nonmonotonic concentration dependences of lattice parameters were conditioned by complex mechanism of solid solution formation in which it was possible filling of tetrahedral cavities by In atoms and formation of In2Te3 complexes
