Hyperspherical polar analysis of bilocal particle model
Description
A simple bilocal model of elementary particles is studied by a wave equation method which utilises hyperspherical polar coordinates. This is a cluster model in which two quanta are associated through the agency of a potential which is a function of the invariant square of the distance between the constituent quanta. Principal interest here is with the mass spectra which result from different types of potential, and these spectra are compared with results which have appeared in the literature. In the nonrelativistic hydrogen atom, energy eigenvalues are associated with localised radial wavefunctions. The relativistic model here reveals the fact that mass spectra can be found without requirement of a totally square-integrable internal wavefunction.
