GGLP effect from 1959 to 1984

Description

The GGLP effect refers to the difference in opening angles of pion pairs for like and unlike pairs. This was found to be the effect of Bose-Einstein statistics for pions. The discovery of the effect in 1959, its interpretation in terms of Bose-Einstein statistics, and the use of the effect in pion interferometry are reviewed. 27 refs
