Description

Pulmonary scintigraphy by means of 131I-human serum albumin macroaggregate was carried out in 168 patients suffering from lung cancer, and in 98 cases pulmonary circulation was examined by using 131I-hippuran as well. These investigations provided precise information on the lesion of perfusion in cases of central bronchial tumours or suspect metastases in central lymph nodes. The results of the two radioisotope methods were in good agreement. In cases of peripheral lung tumours they did not provide any additional information. (L.E.)
