Photoelectric detectors of Moessbauer gamma radiation

  • 1. Azerbaidzhan Civil-Engineering Institute, Baku, USSR

Description

A gas-filled photoelectric detector of Moessbauer gamma radiation is described that registers electrons produced as a result of interaction of resonance gamma quanta with a thin metal foil that does not contain resonant nuclei. For gamma fluxes of ∼ 3 mCi/cm2, the ratio of the count rate in the spectrum region under study to the count rate beyond resonance is reduced by a total of 20% as compared with a flux of ∼ 0.3 mCi/cm2
