Photoionization of SO radical
Description
The SO radical was generated by microwave discharge through SO2. A portion of the discharged gas entered the ionization region of the photoionization mass spectrometer, and the photoionization spectrum of SO was obtained in this manner. An accurate ionization potential could be deduced, and considerable autoionization structure was observed. The structure is complex, and does not lend itself to simple analysis
