Studies on tripleorthovanadates VI: synthesis and crystal chemical characterisation of bismuth containing triple orthophosphates and -vanadates, M (II) BiTh (XO4)3, where M (II) = Cd or Mn

  • 1. Bombay Univ. (India). Dept. of Chemistry

Description

The synthesis and a detailed structural analysis of the triple orthophosphates and -vanadates, M(II)BiTh(XO4)3, where M(II)=Cd or Mn, are presented. The X-ray powder diffraction data suggest that the triple orthophosphates belong to monoclinic monazite structure, whereas the corresponding triple orthovanadates exhibit tetragonal zircon structure. The vibrational spectroscopic results are given and discussed as a complementary evidence to the structural data
