Description
Hamaoka NPS Unit 1 and Unit 2 of Chubu Electric Power Company (CEPCO) have finished the operation on January 30, 2009. Obtaining the approval of decommissioning plan on November 18, 2009, CEPCO started decommissioning of them. The decommissioning plan indicates the outline of overall plan and its modification may be approved by stages according to the schedule of dismantling and removal works. CEPCO has completed so far the removal of fuel assemblies and the preparation of dismantling facilities in controlled area which are planned as stage 1 (Preparation). CEPCO submitted an application of the revised decommissioning plan for stage 2 (Dismantling Reactor Zone Peripheral facilities) on March 16, 2015. Approved on February 3, 2016, it is currently transiting to stage 2. This report describes the outline of decommissioning plan and project status of Hamaoka NPS Unit 1 and Unit 2. (author)
