Probabilities of optical transition of neodymium in fluorophosphate glass
Creators
Description
The relative roles of the vibrational and static parts in odd perturbations, the results of intensity measurements, in the framework of the B.R. Judd (1962) theory, and the transition probability in the luminescence were studied in glasses with the 15 Ba(PO3)2 - 4O AlF3 - 5MgO - 20CaF2 - 20SrF2 (mole%) composition, with Nd added as Nd2O3 (0.1-3.2 mole %). The Nd absorption spectra at 300 and 4.50K are reproduced, a table is given of the experimental and calculated values of the Nd3+ oxcillator strengths, curves and a table is given of absorption- and luminescence-band decay (prepared by a computer). The Einstein coefficient describing the probability of the 4Fsub(3/2)(1) - 4Isub(9/2)(1) spontaneous transition is Asub(R)=210sec-1
