N-body simulations of disk-galaxy evolution

Description

Analysis of various computer models of disk-galaxy evolution indicates that the flat stellar systems considered in previous numerical experiments are inherently collisional, unlike real galaxies. When collisional dissipation is present in a rotating, gravitating system, instability will develop, heating the system and producing structure
