Description

The objective of the survey was to determine the present state of the art of industrial accident databases within the European Community and the United States of America. Although the collected information varies between the different countries an underlying theme is evident. It is clear that the majority of incident reporting systems are focussed on injuries and fatalities. Information on the cause of the incident including technical information on the various phenomena associated with the incident is rather scarce. Consequently data that could be directly applicable for safety investigations are very limited. (orig./DG)
