Investigation of the diffusion of a massive particle in a one-dimensional ideal gas
Description
Numerical methods have been used to investigate the dependence of the diffusion coefficient of a massive particle in a one-dimensional ideal gas on its mass. It is shown that the lower limit for the diffusion coefficient obtained by Sinai and Soloveichick and Szasz and Toth is a greatest lower bound. In addition, application of Pearson's x2 test showed that the limit distribution of a massive particle is not Gaussian with a high significance level
