Pulsed neutron beams from steady state reactors
Description
The method of obtaining pulsed neutron beams from steady state reactors using a ''chopper'' is described. Principles of chopper design, design and operation considerations, correlation methods in time-of-flight spectroscopy are discussed. The principles of operation of phased choppers, filter-chopper combinations, and non-mechanical choppers are outlined. (U.K.)
