Effect of X-ray irradiation on the rhythmicity of β-acetylglucosaminidase activity in mouse liver
Description
Changes of the rhythmicity of β-acetylglucosaminidase activity in mouse liver homogenates and the influence of X-ray irradiation upon this rhythmicity during the first 24 hours following exposure to X-rays were studied. Rhythmic activity changes of the investigated enzyme were observed both in control and in experimental groups. X-rays showed a stimulating effect expressed as a significant increase in the enzyme activity only during the first five hours following the irradiation. During the remaining hours, beginning from 16:00 h the enzyme activity rhythm of the experimental animals was consistent with that of the control animals. (author)
