Description
14C-polymethacrylates were implanted into rats. The monomers released during polymerization as well as the residual monomers diffusing from the resulting solid were distributed all over the body and accumulated especially in liver, lungs and kidneys. More than 10% of the free monomers were excreted by urine. The autoradiographic findings corresponded well with the results from liquid scintillation spectroscopy
