Measurement of secondary ions from ion-irradiated liquid beam targets
- 1. Kyoto Univ., Dept. of Nuclear Engineering, Kyoto (Japan)
Description
We have newly developed an experimental technique for ion beam/liquid beam collision. This technique enables us to investigate collision interactions of fast ions with liquid phase materials such as water, alcohols and various solutions. Using a beam of 15 keV He+ as projectile and a liquid ethanol target of 20 μm in diameter, we measured mass spectra of secondary ions from liquid target by means of the time-of-flight technique.
