Description

Reactions between Sc2(SO4)3·5H2O (1) and organic cations yielded the complexes (C{NH2}3)3[Sc(SO4)3]·3H2O (2), and [H3N{CH2}6NH3][Sc(H2O)2(SO4)2]2·2H2O (3), which were studied by X-ray diffraction. Crystals of 1 are triclinic, space group P1-bar, a 5.6315(5), b = 11.5536(11), c = 10.9469(9) A, α = 90.49(2) Deg, β = 99.41(2) Deg, γ = 89.63(2) Deg; those of 2 are trigonal, space group R3-bar, a = 19.3143(18) A, c = 9.5416(15) A; and crystals of 3 are monoclinic, space group P21/c, a = 5.1125(7) A, b = 10.3803(9) A, c 23.739(2) A, β = 94.52(2) Deg. Using 2 and 3 by way of example, it was demonstrated that the composition and structure of polymeric anionic chains of scandium sulfate are dictated by the nature of organic cation rather than by composition of the reaction mixture

Abstract (Russian)

P1-bar, a 5.6315(5), b = 11.5536(11), c = 10.9469(9) A, α = 90.49(2) Deg, β = 99.41(2) Deg, γ = 89.63(2) Deg; 2 - тригональные, пр. гр. R3-bar, a 19.3143(18), c = 9.5416(15) A; 3 - моноклинные, пр. гр. P21/c, a 5.1125(7), b = 10.3803(9), c = 23.739(2) A, β =94.52(2) Deg. На примере соединений 2, 3 показано, что состав и строение полимерных анионных цепочек сульфата скандия определяет не состав реакционной смеси, а природа органического катиона
