Infrared reflection studies on the phosphates, arsenates and vanadates of lutenium and yttrium
Description
First order polarized i.r. spectra of LuPO4, YPO4, LuAsO4, YAsO4, LuVO4 and YVO4 were determined by reflection measurements in the region of 100 to 1300 cm-1. The i.r. dispersion parameters were obtained by fitting the reflectance data to a set of damped harmonic oscillators. The influence of finite reflection angle on the spectrum is discussed. Simple force constant considerations yield the result that the phosphates and arsenates are very similar to each other, but differ from the vanadates. (author)
