New mechanism of vibronic transitions involving anharmonic vibrations
Description
A new mechanism of vibronic transitions is shown to exist caused by an admixture of highly excited vibrational states of a dipole-active anharmonic oscillator with the electronic states. When this mechanism is operative, the vibronic transition intensity is directly proportional to the intensity of pure electronic transitions. 10 refs
