On the renormalization group evolution of gauge couplings with several U(1) factors

Description
Some algebraic issues are discussed in treating the renormalization group evolution of gauge couplings with several U(1) factors, where some stages of gauge symmetry breakings may be passed. From the results an algorithm is proposed which is, in particular, useful for solving the RGEs at the one-loop level. (orig.)
