First data of comparison for day-time convection according to information on radars of the Super Darn and the IEMEM model

Description

Data on the ionospheric convection structure in the day-time area, obtained through the assistance of the Canadian-American pair of the Super Darn radars, are compared with the calculational results achieved through the electrodynamic model of the Institute of the Earth Gravitation, the components of the interplanetary magnetic field and the data on the solar wind plasma whereof constitute the inflow parameters. Satisfactory agreement of the model calculations and experimental results is obtained. 17 refs., 4 figs
