Peculiar features of phase composition of nickel alloys with high tungsten and molybdenum contents
- 1. Tsentral'nyj Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Chernoj Metallurgii, Moscow (USSR)
Description
The phase composition of nickel alloys with different tungsten and molybdenum contents is determined to study the range of maximum concentration of these elements in the alloys before the appearance of excessive phases which can change strength properties of alloys with solid-solution strengthening. It is found that no excessive phases appear in nickel alloys in the case of total tungsten and molybdenum content not exceeding 8 at. %, only complex carbides and present is such a case. In the case of W+Mo content not exceeding 5 % a cubic carbide of the M23C6 type appears which has a positive effect on the heat resistance of nickel alloys
