R and D results for the proposed intermediate fiber tracker of CDF
Description
In this paper, R and D results for the proposed Intermediate Fiber Tracker detector for the CDF upgrade are presented. We show a detailed study of the performance of the tracker under the high radiation levels expected during the Tevatron Run II operation. The system is proved to be highly efficient even after the expected 2 fb-1 of delivered luminosity. A rate capability study has also been conducted on readout SSPM to address the issue of high rate operation. High efficiency is well maintained up to several MHz expected for Run II
