Gas centrifuges

Description

The terminology used in cascade separation of gaseous isotopes is defined, and a brief review of the cascade theory developed by Benedict and Pigford is presented. The theory of three types of gas centrifugation, evaporative gas centrifugation, concurrent gas centrifugation, and countercurrent gas centrifugation, is outlined. Several previously reported analyses of the theory on countercurrent gas centrifugation have been analyzed in detail, and improvements in the analysis are focused on to find a more realistic radial concentration profile and also an exial flow velocity profile. Current researches making important contributions in these two areas are presented
