Polarized deep inelastic lepton-nucleon scattering: Inclusive results

This paper reviews the world results on polarized deep inelastic lepton nucleon scattering and their implications on our understanding of the spin structure of the proton and neutron. Results on the tests of the Bjorken and Ellis-Jaffe sum rules are presented as well as a discussion of the Next-to-Leading Order analyses of the nucleon spin structure functions
