Description
A theoretical procedure is developed for including intermediate coupling model wave functions for the A = 11 and 12 systems in the coupled-channels reaction theory in the γ-representation. The corresponding E1 transition amplitude is defined, and the total 11B(p, γ1) cross section is calculated from 1-, 2- and 3- initial states to the 2+, 4.43 MeV state in 12C. The theory qualitatively reproduces the resonance structure in the excitation function. The consequences of certain simplifying features, such as the neglet of the Pauli term in the s-wave channel, are discussed. (author)
