The use of a mobile supercompactor for low-level waste

Description
Supercompaction of solid low-level radioactive waste is now an established waste minimization technique. AEA Technology have been operating a mobile supercompactor in the UK since 1989 at Winfrith Technology Centre and have processed in excess of 30 000 waste drums. This service has been provided to a number of producers of low-level waste, and has been demonstrated as a valid and cost-effective option. (author)
