A lattice nut plate with nodes having apertures corresponding to the linking members of a nuclear fuel element

Description

This invention concerns a nut plate for a nuclear reactor fuel element in which the fuel element has an array of end portions for engaging the nut plate. This nut plate comprises a plurality of linking members joined together to form a lattice, and nodes where linking members are joined together, at least some of the nodes having apertures formed therein. Each of the apertures is positioned relative to the other nodes in a disposition that matches the fuel element end portion array. The nut plate comprises a plurality of hollow locking cups, each of cups being secured to network of linking members in gemeral alignment with respective node aperture

Abstract (French)

Cette invention concerne une plaque a ecrous pour element combustible de reacteur nucleaire l'element combustible presentant un ensemble de troncons terminaux a engager dans la plaque a ecrous. Cette plaque a ecrous est formee d'un reseau de barres ou tiges qui se croisent en pastilles a leurs points d'intersection, certaines de ces pastilles etant percees de trous et la disposition relative des trous reproduisant celle des troncons terminaux de l'element combustible. La plaque comprend une serie de douilles a l'arret dont chacune est fixee au reseau de tiges et s'etend generalement dans le prolongement du trou de pastille respectif
