High spin states in the particle-vibration coupling model
Description
The cluster-vibration coupling scheme has proved useful in classifying and describing the properties of low-lying states in vibration-like nuclei. Energy levels, electromagnetic transitions and moments, and amplitudes for transfer reactions are in qualitative and sometimes in quantitative agreement with experiments. In the present note the same description is extended to higher-spin states, especially to those in the yrast region. The regularities as well as the iregularities of the yrast bands, as the properties of the low-lying states, are consequences of the interplay of clusters and collective degrees of freedom. (Auth.)
